Weeks 19 & 20

The past two weeks have been a period of refinement and forward planning as we move closer to our final presentation. Much of our focus has been on documenting the results from our testing sessions and translating those insights into concrete improvements for our prototype.

From these reflections, we’ve made several key design updates. The most notable change is replacing the remote controller with a bracelet for button operations, which we believe will offer a more seamless and accessible experience for users. We’ve also introduced a lanyard option for attaching the device, giving more flexibility in how it can be worn. Finally, we have also added an on/off switch, an important detail that will make the device easier to operate in daily use.

With these adjustments, our designs are now nearly complete, and we’re feeling confident about the direction of our final product. Alongside design work, our team has shifted focus toward preparing the final poster and pitch for our end-of-year presentation. These deliverables are an exciting opportunity to showcase our journey and the impact we hope our device will have for the low vision community.

We are also very excited to launch a first look at our new mascot called ‘Vernon’. He was designed to give personality to our device, and we hope that you like him as much as we do. He is pictured below.

All in all, things are tracking along smoothly, and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made.

As always, thank you for following along and supporting Project Ver. If you’d like to reach out, ask questions, or share thoughts, feel free to email us at projectver2025@gmail.com or connect with us on our socials.
